The October meeting was truly a winner. The annual fund raiser generated a substantial donation to the Susan G Komen foundation. Park Cities Hilton, BBJ Linen, AAWP, ISES, and NACE took home some awards but everyone who participated in the Tabletop Competition deserves accolades and sincere appreciation for the wonderful tablescapes they created to honor all of their cancer survivors. And the INFOMART went all out (and all pink) with fantastic food and hospitality.

The evening started out a little gray and foreboding.

September meeting recap

Wow! What a great meeting! Embassy Suites, Frisco was host and the topic was Indian Weddings. Everyone got a first hand view of the color and pageantry that makes up these amazing celebrations.

During registration and networking before the program, Operation Kindness brought out some of their adoptable pets to be loved on by everyone. Drinks Fantastic provided wonderful frozen beverages that were enjoyed along with the Indian themed appetizers. Many NACE members sported Indian fashions from Silk Threads, Inc and a henna artist created wonderful designs for many of the guests.

Upon entering the ballroom guests were awed by the fantastic decor and delicious Indian cuisine. Fashion shows demonstrated the various wedding attire worn in Indian weddings and a panel discussion answered questions and educated attendees about Indian customs and traditions.

Here are a few photos from the evening:

Chillin' with DFW NACE

Urban Crust in Plano hosted a DFW NACE Happy Hour Wednesday evening in the ubercool 32° Roof Top Bar. There were lots of refreshing beverages and tasty snacks and the place was packed with networking NACE members and guests. It was a little intimidating for some random customers who made their way to the 3rd floor only to find that it elbow-to-elbow around the bar and spilling out onto the rooftop patio.

For those lucky enough to snag a seat at the 30 foot long ice bar, the frozen surface kept drinks cold while attendees visited with friends and colleagues.

If you're ever in the neighborhood, it's worth checking out.

July Meeting and Summer Social Recap

The July meeting and Summer Social at TopGolf Dallas was a fun and entertaining evening. The food was delicious, the drinks were refreshing, and most everyone managed to hit a "hole in one!" If you've never been to TopGolf you should check it out.

Our host for the evening was Robb Sidebottom, the Executive Director of Sales and Events. He and his staff took excellent care of all the DFW NACE members.

Vince Corona was in attendance to make the formal presentation of the Event Industry Olympics Champion's trophy to Dana Carroll. You may recall that DFW NACE team members rocked the competition this year. (Had to be the t-shirts.)

Oh yeah... Everyone had a great time hitting golf balls. Gotta love those holes in one!

DFW NACE Supports Race for the Cure

With excitement building just 2 weeks before the big day, NACE - DFW Chapter asks for your support in joining our team or simply pledging a donation in its name! The NACE - DFW Chapter has accepted the challenge to raise funds to support he Komen North Texas Race for the Cure® on June 6, 2009 in the fight against breast cancer. This will be 1 of 2 local RACE for the CURE events we will participate in this year.

One in eight women will be stricken with breast cancer in her lifetime and the more we raise, the more the North Texas Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure can give back to fund vital breast cancer education, screening and treatment programs in our own community and support the national search for a cure.

Please join us in the fight by pledging in support of my participation in the Race or contributing generously to the Komen North Texas Race for the Cure®. Your tax-deductible contribution will fund innovative outreach and awareness programs for medically underserved communities in North Texas and national breast cancer research. It is faster and easier than ever to support this great cause - you can make a donation online by simply clicking on the link at the bottom of this message. If you would prefer, you can also send your tax-deductible contribution to the address listed below. Whatever you can give will help! We truly appreciate your support and will keep you posted on our progress.
